About Lisa
Elected in 2018, Lisa is a long-time resident of Cold Spring in District 13A. She and her husband, Nick, have four children and seven grandchildren.
Lisa is a small-business owner who is dedicated to serving her community. Before joining the legislature, she served on the ROCORI School Board for 11 years.
Lisa is currently serving in her fourth term in the Minnesota House. In 2022, she was elected by her colleagues to serve as the House Minority Leader. Under her leadership in the 2024 elections, House Republicans held every current seat and flipped three more to deliver the second tie in Minnesota history. In February 2025, she was elected to serve as Speaker of the House. She is the first black lawmaker and first Republican woman to serve as Speaker.
During the 2025 session, Lisa worked on a bipartisan state budget that delivered the largest reduction in state spending in Minnesota history while ensuring Minnesota remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.
